Hamas: Israeli attacks aim to destroy ceasefire

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the escalation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 20 civilians.

Hawzah News Agency- The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a statement condemning the escalation of the Zionist regime’s frenzied attacks on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 20 civilians, and considered it a continuation of genocide and an attempt to defeat the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

According to a report by the Palestinian news agency “Shehab”, the statement states: The escalation of the Zionist occupation regime’s attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 20 civilians, including four children and an aid worker, is a direct continuation of the war of genocide and aggression; This action reveals the hidden intentions of the war criminal Netanyahu to disrupt the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, especially the opening of the Rafah crossing.

Hamas further emphasized: The occupation regime’s false claims that one of its forces was shot at are only a pretext to justify the continuation of the killing, aggression and brutality against the Palestinian people and a criminal attempt to impose a permanent reality of intimidation, torture and terrorism in the Gaza Strip. This action was taken in clear disregard for the provisions of the ceasefire agreement and existing understandings.

The movement called on the mediators and guarantor countries of the agreement to take a firm stance against the behavior of the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, who is systematically breaking the agreement and resuming genocide, killing and starving the Palestinians in Gaza.

The Hamas statement also stated: “The ongoing aggression of the occupying regime, despite entering the second phase and the opening of the Rafah crossing, is a deliberate destruction and destruction of efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and the continuation of the policy of killing and siege by the occupying government to evade the commitments of the Trump plan to which the Hamas movement has adhered. This requires international pressure to stop this violation of rights and force the occupying regime to respect its commitments under the ceasefire agreement''.

This statement was issued after the Israeli army announced the injury of a Zionist officer after shooting at Israeli occupiers near the Yellow Line in the northern Gaza Strip, and on this pretext, launched artillery and air strikes in various areas of the strip.

The Israeli occupying army always makes baseless claims to justify its attacks and crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

In addition, more than 20 Palestinian civilians, including children, were martyred in recent hours in the ongoing criminal attacks by the Zionist army on Gaza City and Khan Yunis in the south of the Strip.

On the other hand, Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Gaza Relief and Rescue Organization, emphasized in an interview with Al Jazeera that the Zionist regime's attacks on the residents of the Gaza Strip continue continuously and that civilians, especially children and women, have been targeted by violent and systematic actions.

While warning about the humanitarian dimensions of the crisis, Mahmoud Basal stated that a large number of victims have been recorded in areas close to the "Yellow Line" and reports of missing persons have been received.

He called on the international community to take urgent measures to protect the human rights and right to life of the people of Gaza and to allow children and women in this area to live in safety.

Basal concluded by stating that the policies of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza not only include the killing and harassment of civilians, but have also systematically led to the creation of terror and the destruction of human and vital infrastructure.
